Planning and installing electrical systems across commercial, residential, and industrial settings, while performing maintenance and repairs efficiently and safely.
Electrical installations are the cornerstone of an Electrician’s work. An Electrician plans and designs, selects and installs, commissions, tests, reports, maintains, fault finds and repairs electrical wiring, systems and circuits to a high standard on commercial, residential, agricultural and industrial projects. This may involve buildings, stationary machines, or related equipment. Electricians may be employed in the installation of new electrical components or the maintenance and repair of existing electrical infrastructure.
The WorldSkills Australia Electrical Installation competition creates a friendly, competitive and simulated environment to test the skills of Competitors against fellow electrical apprentices or trainees and is designed to promote learning opportunities.
The competition tests the skills and knowledge used in the Electrotechnology industries not limited to workplace health and safety, identifying electrotechnology components, use of hand tools and electrotechnology apparatuses.
