Every two years, over 700 Regional Competitions are held across 34 regions in Australia, giving 6,000+ apprentices, trainees, and students the chance to test their skills, earn medals, and qualify for the National Championships.
Australia’s largest vocational education competition, the National Championships brings regional winners together to compete on a national stage. Over three days, competitors showcase their skills, celebrate excellence, and inspire the next generation of skilled professionals.
Every two years, the elite Skillaroos represent Australia against up to 90 member countries at WorldSkills International Competitions. Selected from National Championships, these apprentices. trainees, and students compete to be the best in the world, bringing international experience and recognition back to Australia.
The Global Skills Challenge simulates an international competition environment, preparing the Skillaroos and competitors from invited countries for the WorldSkills International competition. It provides immersive benchmarking, performance development, and collaboration opportunities with international peers.
The Skills Excellence Forum develops future-ready young professionals by combining technical excellence with leadership, employability, and personal growth. Participants gain confidence, career direction, and real-world skills to succeed in their chosen fields.
WorldSkills Australia Ambassadors play a vital role in promoting the value of vocational education and skills excellence across the country. As past competitors, industry representatives, and advocates for skills pathways, our Ambassadors share their experiences to inspire the next generation of apprentices, trainees, and students.
