From Regional Competitions to National Recognition
These competitions assess the skills and knowledge of over 6,000 apprentices, trainees and students, who compete for gold, silver and bronze medals and the opportunity to progress to the National Championships — a national event that brings together the top regional medallists from across Australia to compete at the highest level
The next National Championships will be held in Adelaide in 2027, giving competitors the chance to benchmark their skills against Australia’s top performers, gain national recognition, and connect with industry leaders. In eligible skills, competitors may also be considered for further progression opportunities, including the chance to become a Skillaroo and represent Australia internationally.
While competitors are central to the success of the Regional Competitions, their achievements are supported by a strong network of stakeholders. Registered training organisations, employers, local government, industry, volunteers and sponsoring partners all play an essential role in delivering high-quality competitions and strengthening industry engagement.
The Regional Competitions are a critical pathway in recognising excellence, fostering industry collaboration and promoting the value of vocational skills across Australia.
