Electrical Control Technicians are responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance of facility equipment and machinery to maintain optimal up time of production equipment. They may perform wiring, plumbing, electrical or mechanical maintenance repair work and installation.

The WorldSkills Australia Electrical Control Competition is designed to assess Competitors on their knowledge of practical and circuit design work, VSD set up, wiring installation, fault finding, PLC programming and how to complete an electrical wiring speed test. Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3008 will need to be applied to all aspects of the competition.
