Carpenters play a vital role in construction, handling timber structures across building projects - from constructing roofs and staircases to installing windows and door frames.

A Carpenter is a skilled tradesperson who measures, cuts and installs building materials for both new or existing residential and commercial buildings. They might work on floors, wall and roof systems, stairs, interior and exterior finishes, roofing materials, doors, and windows.

The WorldSkills Australia Carpentry Competition presents projects that help the Competitor transition all stages of the Skills Competition. Each Stage comes with a geometric set out for the Competitor to use in training, to help achieve accurate dimensions and angles to cut timber to produce a project with a close fitting, precise finish.
